Why did you choose the Media Ventures program?
I initially applied for the MBA program, but I knew that this program alone wouldn’t completely build upon my experience with technology and my desire to build entrepreneurship skills. The addition of the Media Ventures program gave me the critical entrepreneurship education that I needed to fill the gaps between my experience in tech and my business education.
For you, what is the unique selling proposition of the program?
The faculty are experienced, working professionals. They are always available to answer questions and aid in building your education both inside and outside of the classroom.
How did the program help you?
The program has helped me to develop my critical thinking skills, teamwork and communication. It has also given me the confidence to develop any potential business ideas that I may have in the future.
Can you describe your current role and what makes it exciting?
I am currently a Product Manager for Vivox. Vivox develops software for voice communication in video games. I manage the improvements and implementation of new and current features for their desktop software, C3. I also help with digital marketing, product design and graphic design. I love video games and I am lucky to be able to continue my career in a role that allows me to interact with games and the game-playing community.
What was your thesis project?
My thesis project was an iOS e-sports platform that allowed gamers to play mobile games against one another for real cash.
