Boston University’s Screenwriting Department is proud to announce it is once again time for the Fleder/Rosenberg short screenplay competition.
A short history:
Gary Fleder and Scott Rosenberg attended Boston University many years ago. They became friends, graduated, moved to Hollywood and both have enjoyed long, sustained success. For over two decades they have written, produced, directed (and occasionally acted in) well over a hundred movies and TV shows, combined.
And for nearly a quarter of a century they have been generously sponsoring what is aptly named the FLEDER/ROSENBERG SHORT SCREENPLAY COMPETITION.
The short screenplay is an attractive writing sample, appealing to industry professionals because of its brevity and ability to have immediate dramatic or comedic impact. A well-written short screenplay opens doors, appeals to filmmakers, and since it’s fewer than 20 pages, is easy to carry and looks good on a desk. It’s the perfect complement for any writer’s portfolio.
Have a story idea? Great. Then take a shot at a short!
