Hometown:

COM Assistantships:
Teaching Assistant – FT 250 Understanding Film
Writing Fellow – COM Writing Center
Research Interests Summary:
I am interested in the political economy of both the film and television industries. In my research, I would like to trace the eclectic financial interests involved in certain film and television productions and interrogate how these investment interests compete to influence and manipulate content. Taking both a historical and industrial approach, I also intend to dissect how media conglomerates obfuscate their internal corporate agendas and purport outward messages of altruism and populism. Ultimately, I hope to bring attention to the problematic ideologies of certain film/television texts and contribute to the ongoing discourses that challenge the hegemonic state of Hollywood
