The annual COM Blue Chip Awards are given to outstanding College of Communication seniors who are leaders at Boston University, the College of Communication, and in the community. Award winners have demonstrated talents in their areas of interest, are involved in professional activities and internships, and have excelled in the classroom. The Blue Chip Awards are the most prestigious undergraduate student honor conferred by the College of Communication.
To be eligible to apply for the Blue Chip Award students must be graduating in either January 2020, May 2020, or September 2020. A minimum overall GPA of a 3.30 is required to apply. Applicants will need to complete the web-form, submit a current resume, submit a letter of recommendation from a COM professor in their major, and submit a letter of recommendation from an internship supervisor. Our three academic departments at COM make Blue Chip selections: Film and Television, Journalism, and Mass Communication, Advertising and Public Relations. Therefore, COM double majors should apply through the academic department they feel best to be honored.
This web-form must be submitted, a resume submitted, and both recommendations received by Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 5 P.M. Recommendations should be sent to Manager of COM Undergraduate Affairs, Abby Bodnar at abodnar@bu.edu, by 5 P.M. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. The resume can be uploaded as part of the web-form, or emailed to Abby. Late applications or applications with missing materials will not be considered.
