Until further notice, Parking & Transportation Services will conduct all business via phone, email, and mail during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM). The office will not be open for in-person transactions. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at 617-353-2160 or parking@bu.edu.
I don’t need my parking permit any more. May I return it for a refund? I left my car parked on campus and I’m not going to be able to come back to get it. What should I do?Student Parking
I need to park on campus while I move out. Do I have to pay to park?
No. The University’s parking lots and garages will be open and free to parents and family members of students who are moving out. Upon arrival, please notify lot attendants that you are moving out.
Yes. Please submit a Transportation Request Form via our website. There is no need to return the physical permit. We will treat your form submission date as the “return date” and refund you accordingly. Permit refunds are prorated weekly.

I lost my MBTA Semester Pass. What should I do? How will I pick up my MBTA Commuter Rail Semester Pass? Student MBTA Semester Passes
I don’t need my MBTA semester pass anymore. May I return it for a refund?
We are in communication with the MBTA and will provide updates as soon as possible.
Email us at parking@bu.edu with your BU ID number and a current mailing address. Replacements will be mailed to you by our office upon their receipt from the MBTA.
Please submit a Transportation Request Form via our website and we will mail your pass to you. We cannot guarantee delivery before the first of the month if your form is submitted after noon on Monday, March 23rd. Until further notice, Semester MBTA passes will not be distributed via campus mail rooms or Parking & Transportation Services.

I don’t need my parking permit anymore. How do I go about cancelling it and stopping payroll deductions or, if pre-paid, getting a refund?
You do not need to return the physical permit. Please submit a Transportation Request Form via our website. For deduction and refund purposes, we will treat the date of form submission as your permit’s return date. Permit refunds are prorated weekly.
BU employees who wish to park on the Charles River Campus, but do not have a parking permit, may present their BU ID to the lot attendant to receive a flat rate of $8/day at attended lots and garages. Red Permit holders are also eligible for the flat rate of $8/day. More information on lots where the temporary daily parking rate will be honored can be found here.

I don’t need my MBTA pass anymore. May I cancel it and stop deductions?
The regular deadline for cancelling April MBTA passes has passed but we have arranged to accommodate these cancellations. Employees who wish to cancel their April MBTA pass have until 5 pm ET, March 25 to:
Until further notice, MBTA passes will be mailed to the address that BU Human Resources has on file for you. Please follow these steps to verify that the address on file is current.
Go to BUworks, select the “Employee Self Service” tab, select “Campus Services,” and select “Apply/Manage MBTA Pass and MBTA Parking Benefits.” You will be given the option to cancel your MBTA pass and the Transit Station Parking Benefit or cancelling just the Transit Station Parking Benefit (and keep your MBTA pass). Funds remaining in your Transit Station Parking Benefit account can only be used for parking at transit stations and do not expire as long as you remain a BU employee.

Will bike rooms remain open?
To the extent possible, bike rooms will remain open. The rooms most likely to continue to provide access are Warren Towers, the Kilachand Center (CILSE), and 10 Buick Street. Please contact email bikes@bu.edu to request bike room access.
You may leave your bike. If you require bike room access please email us at bikes@bu.edu.

Additionally, BUMC employees may present their BU ID to receive a flat rate of $8/day at attended lots and garages on the Charles River Campus. They may then take the BU Shuttle to the Medical Campus. Is there a temporary daily parking option for BUMC students and employees?
Yes. BUMC employees may pull a ticket to park at either the 710 Albany Street Garage or the DOB Lot (720 Harrison Ave.) for $8/day, space permitting. To pay this temporary rate, students and employees must present their BU ID along with their ticket to the cashier in order to pay before returning to their vehicles.
